This Privacy Policy covers our treatment of personally identifiable information ("Personal Information") that we gather when you are accessing or using this website (“Site”) and/or our information services (“Services”), but not to the practices of companies we don’t own or control, or people that we don’t manage. We gather various types of Personal Information from our users, as explained in more detail below, and we use this Personal Information internally in connection with the operation of this website, our Services, including to personalize, provide, and improve our services, to allow you to set up a user account and profile, to contact you and allow other users to contact you, to fulfill your requests for certain products and services, and to analyze how you use the Services. Sometimes we may collect sensitive information as part of providing Services. Sensitive information includes information or an opinion (that is also personal information) about an individual’s health, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, philosophical beliefs, criminal record and sexual orientation, amongst other things.

Your rights regarding your personal information

When providing Services, we collect information under the direction of our business clients and have no direct relationship with the individuals whose personal information we process in connection with our Services. We acknowledge that you have the right to access your personal information if you are user of our Site or our Services. An individual who seeks access, or who seeks to correct or delete their personal information collected in connection with our Services, should direct their query to our client, the data controller. If our clients request that we correct or delete their personal information, we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

Additional Rights of California Residents

In addition to the information supplied in this Privacy Policy, if you are a resident of California you are entitled to certain rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (also known as the California Assembly Bill: NO. 375) (the “CCPA”). The following notice only applies to these residents. If you would like to exercise any of these rights and find you cannot do so within our platform please use the contact information detailed above.

You have the right to appoint an agent who is registered with the Secretary of State of California to submit requests and exercise the above rights on your behalf. We may require the agent to submit to us written permission from you as well as have you verify your identity directly with us. In the event an agent is not able to provide written permission to act on your behalf, we are within our rights to deny a rights request.

Right of Disclosure or Access: You have the right to request disclosure of the following: (1) categories of Personal Information collected about you; or (2) specific pieces of Personal Information collected about you. You also have the right to request the disclosure of a sale of Personal Information to third parties; however, we do not sell Personal Information to third parties.

  3. Right of Data Portability: You have the right to request a copy of your Personal Information in a readable and useable format.

Right to Equal Services and Prices: You have the right to exercise your rights under the CCPA and not be discriminated against for having done so (i.e. being denied goods or services, being charged a different price or rate for goods or services, or being provided a different level or quality of goods or services, or being subject to a suggestion that any of the foregoing will occur).

  5. Right to Opt-Out of the Sale of Personal Information: You have the right to opt-out of the sale of Personal Information; however, Sonar does not sell or rent any Personal Information to any third parties.

Any requests received by Sonar, will be processed in accordance with applicable law. In order to process your request, we will need to verify your identity in order to avoid fraudulent requests and ensure you are the California resident who is making the request. In order to properly verify your identity, we may ask you to provide some information that we can attempt to match with Personal Information we may have about you. This may include your full name, your phone number, and/or your email and/or postal address. Once a request is verified, we will search our internal systems for any of your Personal Information that we may have. Once we have located any of your Personal Information, we will work to comply with your applicable request.

Data retention and deletion

Sonar keeps your personal information only as long as necessary to provide you with the best service and for legitimate business purposes. These purposes include: providing a personalized experience of the Services, maintaining and improving Sonar’s performance, helping make business decisions about features and products, complying with legal obligations, and resolving disputes. We keep some of your personal data for as long as you are a user of the Services, such as your full name.

If requested, we will delete your personal data unless we are legally allowed or required to keep certain personal information. Some examples of information we would keep include: preventing fraud and maintaining the security of the Services and legal/tax/audit obligations.

How do we keep your data safe?

The Sonar Services are built with strong security practices designed to protect your personal data in our custody or control on an ongoing basis. If you have a Sonar account and we detect a security breach, we will notify you within 72 hours.

We endeavor to protect the privacy of your account and other personal information we hold in our records, but unfortunately, we cannot guarantee complete security. Unauthorized entry or use, hardware or software failure, and other factors, may compromise the security of user information at any time.

Whenever you interact with our Site or the Services, we automatically receive and record information on our server logs from your browser or device, which may include your IP address, device identification, "cookie" information, the type of browser and/or device you’re using to access our Services, and the page or feature you requested. Will Sonar share any of the personal information it receives?
